A genocide in the DRC has been going on for more than 30 years. It is one of the deadliest humanitarian crises, with an estimated 6 million deaths since 1996. Known as a “silent genocide”, much of the world is unaware of the horrors that the people of the Congo face every day. These are not just numbers, they are human lives, facing unfathomable injustice as a result of the region’s vast natural resources and the world’s need and greed for new tech.

As AI and tech become more integrated into society, many people are dependent, addicted and controlled by our devices in ways like never before. This predominantly benefits a handful of big corporations and billionaires, who profit off of our attention, whilst exploiting countries like the Democratic Republic of the Congo; using slave labour to supply the minerals that are found in our rechargeable devices.
